Mihpares is an autistic white Swan with a weird yet charming personality. She was three years old when King Guillaz was exiled to the Gate. Very young, she developed an obsession for practical objects (like nails, boxes and duct-tape), tinkering and art. She used to live with the other Swans in Waterfall City, but ever since Queen Felna retired and that her son Touan got named ruler, things started to get hard for her: Touan had a best friend, Novaal. Both of them were made King and Queen when Felna retired, but when King Touan announced Novaal's death, he started to brainwash his subjects into being as mean and selfish as he is. Mihpares stayed true to herself, and not understanding why every Swan started to act rude all the time, decided to leave the city and build herself a house near a river, alone.

After one hundred years of solitude, murders started to occur in the city. Mihpares, reading the journal she received every week to keep herself updated about everyone, noticed a text saying a Swan may had seen a monstrous beast coming in the Green Mantis forest, an area made forbidden ever since King Guillaz was banished through the Gate. Mihpares thought to herself that Swans were getting so mean to one another that they started to kill each other, making up a beast to hide their crimes.

A short time after, by a cold snowy night, Mihpares met Screebip, a coyote: she told the Swan she accidentally passed through the Gate and lost her memory. In an act of kindness, Mihpares gladly offered Screebip to stay to her house, waiting for her memory to get back. The two became friends, Mihpares never noticing the coyote's attempts to kill her. The Dog was actually the one behind the murders, but she got attached to her host, finally deciding to let her live.

After finding out Screebip was actually Queen Novaal, seeking revenge from King Touan for lying to her, making her go through the Gate, Mihpares fought by her friend's side when the king's Swan guards were attempting to put the Dog down. The Swan then escaped with Novaal to Canilon, the other side of the Gate, and became a Dog herself.
