Guillaz used to be a Swan that got exiled from Sygnalus to Canilon for almost murdering her old best friend Dragonfly. The Gate, a portal connecting both worlds together, made them mutate, causing his appearance to look like if someone mixed a swan and a dog together, while trying to make it look as terrifying as possible.
The reason one of their eyes is missing is because a young Dog named Esméralda slashed a scythe into her face centuries ago: the girl got scared because of his frightening appearance.

Guillaz is responsible for the Dislocated Dog legend, the myth being responsible itself for wars into Canilon. Luckily, Guillaz can shapeshift into a normal Dog, thing she learned after many misadventures.

The scars on her neck and his arms are memories of their fight against suicidal thoughts.
